Omezená dospělost osob s těžkým mentálním postižením v ústavní sociální péči v Polsku

Abstract

Cílem článku je ukázat na život dospělého obyvatele v ústavu sociální péče. Přestože takový člověk dosáhl plnoletosti, potřebuje neustálou péči. Uvedená instituce je často jedinou for- mou péče a podpory pro takové jedince a jejich rodiny. Důležitým tématem, jemuž budeme v textu věnovat pozornost, je institucionální forma péče, její světlé i stinné stránky, zákonná řešení, která ne vždy naplňují očekávání samotných klientů s těžkým mentálním postižením a osob, které jsou se s uvedenou skupinou osob v kontaktu.

The aim of this article is to show the adult life of the mentally disabled person in care homes. Despite reaching the age of majority, such persons require constant care. These institutions are often the only form of care and support for them and their families. An important theme of the article is to show the good and bad sides of this institutional form of care. Legislative solutions do not always meet the expectations of the people with profound mental disabilities and those who are in contact with this group.
