| dcterms.abstract | Boris Titzl: Deafblind and the Touch Alphabet The traditions of interest in the problém of deafblindness in this country reach as far back as 1846. Appearance of the touch alphabet in 1908 was en event of crucial importance. Its author, Heinrich Landesmann, was known under pseudonym Jeroným Lorm, thence the term „Lorm alphabet". The systém was based on touches in certain palm areas standing for the particular letters. The Lorm alphabet was based on German. The Czech version of it was made up by Ms Aquina A. Sedláčková in |
